On fittings and migraines..
This past week, I delivered C's birthday dress and got the chance to try a few outfits on her (Thank you, H!) H LOVES her dress, and there's nothing better than being able to create exactly what someone has pictured in their head. Here's a few snaps of her in her dress:
Cutest baby in the world (other than yours) or what? Anyway, she modeled a few other things while I was there.
I just love a baby in cloth diapers, especially one I've made. What's that? Want more fluffy pics? I'm happy to oblige.
So my week was going pretty well....then the migraines struck. A 3 day long migraine, to be specific. Anyone who has migraines knows they're not pleasant, and trying to keep up with orders and parent a super active 4 year old whilst having no peripheral vision and throwing up is pretty horrible. Needless to say, I didn't get much done at all, unless you count laying down with an ice pack and sleeping as productive. I hate you, migraines.
I did get a nice delivery of Rumparooz in the post- 8, actually. 5 brand new OS pockets, and 3 EUC OS pockets. I've not had a chance to really examine them, as I'm still not 100%. Epic migraines really take it out of you :(

1st Birthday Dress
When I was asked to make a custom dress for a first birthday party, I was floored. I mean, that's such a big occasion for every parent, and the idea that someone would choose me to make the outfit was such an honor! I'd made a few outfits for this mom (let's call her "H," before and her daughter, "C," is such an adorable little thing!
The first outfit I made for C was for their first trip to Disneyworld:
The other Disneyworld trip outfit I made was much more casual; just an appliqued onesie and a circle skirt:
Now, it's almost C's first birthday, and H came to me with an idea of exactly what she wanted C's dress to look like. The party would be bird-themed, and she wanted to use TBF. LOVE. I made a couple of practice dresses from fabric I already had, just to see what worked and what didn't- what she liked and wasn't so thrilled about.
'And the final dress.....
I've also made matching bloomers from the checkered material. The sash and fabric flower are both removable. I cannot wait to see pictures of her in the dress! Squeee! I love TBF!

I originally tried to monogram her name above the appliqué, but my machine decided to eat the first onesie, and I didn't want to tempt fate a second time. I also made a little ruffle romper, and that's where H and I fell in love with The Bird Fabric. I don't know the real name, but The Bird Fabric (TBF) was too adorable to NOT use, and the end result was this:

3Monkeys OS Pocket Diaper Review
When the post came, I literally ran to the mailbox and ran back to my house, holding the package over my head like an Olympic torch.
This is what was inside the package: 5 cloth wipes, two business cards, a care card, and the gorgeous diaper itself (with a bamboo fleece insert inside that I'll get to in a minute.)

I was SUPER impressed with the amount of detail that went into this diaper. The alternating KAM snaps that went in order of the rainbow (R.O.Y.G.B.I.V. ;) made me smile.

Look at how beautiful the snaps are!

The interior layer of the diaper is made of a pretty sea foam green micro fleece, and is very soft. What I like about this diaper is that the pocket is a modified welt-style, but it's in the front as opposed to the back. I'd think that would come in handy for those breastmilk blowouts that defy physics and go up the back, so you don't have to stick your hand in yuck to unstuff the diaper. I also like that there's a flap to cover the pocket.

An extra layer of PUL that acts as reinforcement for the snaps.
Flaps of the insert
You can fold the flaps in the front for extra layers of protection for boys OR
fold the flaps in the middle for extra protection for girls.
The tabs offered a lot of stretch and it was really easy to adjust to all of the different sizes. It's a pretty trim fit compared to some of the other diapers I've seen. Overall, I really love this diaper! I can't wait to have our last baby so I can put this adorable diaper on him or her! I'll definitely be ordering more diapers from 3Monkeys!

Diapers!
Been working on diapers lately. I think I'm really starting to get the hang of it- and I LOVE seeing the end result. Can't wait to have our last little bit so I can cloth diaper this one!
